The AAAI Announces 2013 Scholarship Program

The Association for the Advancement of American Industry (AAAI) announces its second annual college scholarship program for the 2013/14 school year.  Eligible for the $1000 scholarship are employees and children of AAAI members. This includes both corporate and individual members.  Applicants may currently attend college or be 2013 graduating students from high school and been accepted at a certified college or university.  Each one-time scholarship is set at $1000 and will be applied directly to the applicant's tuition, room or board at his or her college or university. Deadline for the application is July 15, 2013 and the scholarship winner will be selected and notified by August 1, 2013. The application process includes the completion of the scholarship application as well as a 500 to 1000 word essay related to the following subject:

In the past decade American companies have been cutting jobs in the US.  It is estimated that nearly 3 million jobs have been eliminated. During that time period they have added jobs around the globe- outside the US. Again, estimates put this number at nearly 2.5 million jobs created. How can the private sector and local, state and federal government work together to reverse this trend and create a new expanded base of American jobs?

It is not critical that the jobs are developed by only U.S. corporations.  It is critical that the jobs are based in the U.S.

The scholarship essay will be reviewed by a board of experienced business executives.  Essays will be judged on feasibility and ease of execution.

Applications and essays (in WORD document format) must be submitted to Rich Easley at AAAI by email (rich@theaaai.org) before midnight on July 15, 2013.

The scholarship winner and top finalists may be acknowledged at the organizations website, industry events, press releases and other events as appropriate.
